About The Film
An extraordinary story based on true events, Susie’s Hope follows a family who triumphs over tragedy and changes lives in their community. A survivor of a horrific pit bull attack, Donna Lawrence, adopts a pit bull-mix puppy, Susie, that has been beaten, set on fire and left for dead. Together, they learn to heal, love and forgive as they lead a historic effort to seek justice and protection for all animals.
Emmanuelle Vaugier: Donna Lawrence
This talented and vivacious actor continues to shine on television and movie screens around the world. Emmanuelle may be best known for her popular role as Charlie Sheen’s ex-fiancé Mia on the award-winning CBS comedy Two and a Half Men. For three seasons she also played Detective Jennifer Angell on CSI: NY, leaving fans devastated when her role came to an end. Emmanuelle was cast alongside Piper Perabo in the USA Network crime series Covert Affairswhere she plays the recurring role of Liza Hearn—a journalist unafraid to push boundaries. Off-screen, Emmanuelle puts her time and energy into a project that is very close to her heart. An avid animal lover, Emmanuelle became involved with the charitable animal rescue organization Best Friends Animal Society. Best Friends is an organization aimed at animal rescue and rehabilitation, ensuring the best life possible for injured or unwanted animals. Emmanuelle was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, and grew up in a French-speaking household. She resides in Los Angeles with her two toy poodles Lily and Isabelle, whom she flies between sets.
Burgess Jenkins: Roy Lawrence
The film career of this North Carolina native began with a memorable performance in Remember the Titans, playing opposite Denzel Washington. Burgess went on to play Hilary Swank’s husband in The Reaping, historical figure John Wesley in the film Wesley, as well as lead roles in The Trial, Red Dirt Rising, The Key Man and many others. His television career began on One Tree Hill as the popular heartthrob Bobby Irons. His recent credits include The Hallmark Channel films The Shunning and The Heart of Christmas, as well as TV pilots Nashville and Coma.
Andrea Powell: Ramona
Andrea’s long list of credits include principal roles in Twilight: Breaking Dawn, Get Low with Robert Duvall, Runaway Jury, The Legend of Bagger Vance, Cabin Fever 2, Empire Records, and ABC’s The Gates, as well as supporting or recurring roles in My Own Love Song, Super Mario Brothers, Songcatcher, NBC’s Surface, the WB’s Dawson’s Creek,American Gothic, Matlock, and much more.
Jon Provost: Senator Don Vaughan
Jon Provost is fondly remembered as Timmy from the original series of Lassie. His love of dogs and acting didn’t stop there, though. For many years, Jon has been an advocate for dogs, even serving for 20 years on the Board of Directors for Canine Companions for Independence, an organization dedicated to providing service dogs to the handicapped. Jon has continued his film and TV career as well. Jon earned a Genesis Award for Outstanding Television in a Family Series for his writing of an episode of The New Lassie focusing on the inhumane treatment of research animals. He has appeared in approximately 20 well-known films and television series, playing opposite Robert Redford, Grace Kelly, Natalie Wood, Rod Steiger, Clint Eastwood, Kurt Russell and many others.
Willette Thompson: Marsha Williams
Willette was eager to step into the role of Marsha Williams, Director of the Guilford County Animal Shelter who insists on saving Susie no matter what. Willette is an acclaimed stage actress who has won high praise for her performances with the North Carolina’s Black Repertory Theatre. Her screen credits include NBC’s Homicide: Life on the Streets, the feature film Tater Tomater, and a recurring role on HBO’s The Corner.
Lance E. Nichols: Judge Randolph
Lance’s unmistakable presence can be seen in over 125 films, including The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, The Green Lantern, K-Pax and I Love You, Phillip Morris. His TV credits include Desperate Housewives, ER, The Drew Carey Show, Everybody Loves Raymond, The Practice, NYPD Blue and Cheers. Currently, Lance embodies the role of dentist Larry Williams on HBO’s Treme, and he is shooting Beautiful Creatures with Viola Davis, Jeremy Irons and Emma Thompson.
Megan Blake: Ally
Pet lifestyle coach and host of the Emmy-winning PBS series Animal Attractions TV, Megan has made a career of her love of animals. Megan’s work on Animal Attractions TV, which she also segment-produced and wrote, was honored at the Humane Society of the United States’ prestigious Genesis Awards. Her radio show, A Super Smiley Adventure on Pet Life Radio, the largest pet radio network in the world, won her a second Honorary Mention at the Genesis Awards. As an actor, Megan has played in dozens of hit television series and feature films, including Sweet Bird of Youth, The Opposite of Sex, Eyeborgs, Dawson’s Creek and the award-winning animated film The Magistical. A frequent spokesperson in the media for animals, Megan and her canine companion, Smiley, are energizing pet adoption with the unprecedented Super Smiley Flash Mob 4 Pet Adoption. Their film about the tour, Super Smiley Flash Mob — a Dogumetary, was awarded The Visionary Award at LA’s prestigious Awareness Film Festival.
Gregory Waller: Hank
Trained at the University of North Carolina and The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, Gregory’s film and television credits consist of Law & Order, Cashmere Mafia, As the World Turns, Tie a Yellow Ribbon and The Talk Man. Gregory worked extensively with One Year Lease Theater Company and Flux Theatre Ensemble in New York City, as well as the Hudson Shakespeare Company, Ohio Theatre, Abingdon Theatre Company, P73 and Dixon Place, among others. His stage credits include The Tender Mercies, The Bald Soprano, Phaedra, Angel Eaters, Rue, Othello,Measure for Measure, 12 Angry Men, and The Winter’s Tale.

Charlie has topped both country and rock charts with his double-platinum albums. Recipient of a Grammy Award for his #1 hit “The Devil Went Down to Georgia,” Charlie was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 2007 and the Musicians Hall of Fame in 2009.
Country music legend Vince Gill(www.VinceGill.com) performs “Wake Up Little Susie” for the filmSusie’s Hope. Vince hosted the CMA Awards for 12 years, and is himself the winner of 18 CMA Awards, including 5 as Male Vocalist of the Year. Recipient of 20 Grammy Awards, Vince was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 1991, Country Music Hall of Fame in 2007, and the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2012.
Up-and-coming star Lacy Green(www.LacyGreen.com) contributes two songs to the film, both of which she co-wrote specifically for Susie: “Who’s Saving Who” and “Scars Like Mine.” Although a relative newcomer to the music industry, Lacy has already broken the Top 100 Country chart and endeavored on her first radio tour.
